
The Management of Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has noted with concern the increasing public outcry from traders regarding undelivered goods that were shipped into the country under various companies and individuals known as “CONTAINER-LEADERS”.
The Container Leaders, in an effort to evade government taxes and also overcharge the unsuspecting Importers, continue to withhold and delay the declaration and clearance of Traders’ goods, while falsely blaming URA for the delays.
Therefore, URA invites all traders who shipped and have suffered delays in receiving their goods with any of the following companies and individuals, to formally lodge their complaints. The companies and individuals already known to us include the following;

Affected traders are requested to report to the URA Tower, Nakawa 16th Floor, Office of the Commissioner Executive Office Operations, to register their formal complaints and be helped to track and take their cargo after paying the applicable taxes.
To ensure a smooth process, please come prepared with the available evidence of your transaction, including:
National Identification
Receipts or proof of payment to the shipping agency.
Packing lists or invoices describing the goods.
Bills of Lading or tracking numbers (if available).
Any correspondence with the logistics provider.
By this notice all Companies and Individuals involved in Container Leading are further warned to stop this fraudulent method of trade.
