NOTICE TO ALL RESIDENT INDIVIDUALS EMPLOYED BY DIPLOMATIC MISSIONS AND PRESCRIBED ORGANISATIONS IN UGANDA

The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) reminds all resident individuals working in diplomatic missions and prescribed organisations in Uganda of the obligation to file individual income tax returns in accordance with Sections 118(1) and 119(b)(i) of the Income Tax Act.

The individuals are required to submit their final income tax returns for the year July 2023 to June 2024 and pay the resultant taxes by 31st December 2024.

The individuals may also take advantage of the waiver of penalty and interest under Section 47A of Tax Procedure Code Act by clearing their outstanding tax obligations for periods before June 30, 2023.

To ease the burden of a huge tax payable at the end of each financial year, employees who are required to file income tax returns are encouraged to make monthly installment payments towards their income tax liability.
